I absolutely love this camera!. It is very user-friendly. If you do not have any expectation more than easily taking photo with high quality, this camera will be your best.

Shutter wouldn't close anymore after 3rd use. So couldn't take camera anywhere to prevent lens from getting scratched/damaged.

I got this camera so I would have something for those "get it now" pics. I'm so happy with this SONY! fits the need AND does so much more. This is the perfect point and shoot camera. Great rear view screen. Easy to use control buttons.

the camera has nice features, except the quality of picture. Indoor pictures taken with the flash are extremely grainy. Outdoor pictures tend to be out of focus. Color saturation is poor. Green's come out a washed out.

SteadyShot is turned OFF by default. That seems strange until I tried using it. When you use it in brighter conditions, it seems to actually make the pictures worse when the light is bright enough not to need it. So it seems like you need to actively turn it on/off. Which, practically speaking, would rarely happen.

Overall would not recommend. The picture quality is too disappointing.

Great so far 50-75 pics taken with batteries that it came with & still going, wish zoom was better, auto works great on what ever type of photo your taking haven't tried video yet, but its got to be better then the old camera i had. the best thing i like about it is its takes the sony card or an sd card & no rechargeable batteries just takes 2 aa batteries {for it was $49.99 for a new battery for my old 1, it lasted about 18 months}

A friend of my son who has all the latest toys has the previous model, and recommnended this strongly to my son. I bought it for a b-day gift. My son is a surfer and downhill skier, and this fits the outdoor-rugged-water-temperature bill. Takes good photos. It did not come with a memory card, which I did not know until I received the package. The description did not mention it; I assumed it would come with a at least a starter card. Still, a good price for a great little camera.

The camera does everything it says it will. I bought it as a P&S that would be impervious to the elements - something that I can casually toss in my backpack or take for a ride w/o worrying about dust or rain getting in to mess with the optics.

The only downsides are that
1) it doesn't do especially well with inside shots w/flash. Lots of my images turned out blurry or grainy (situations where my other Canon P&S wouldn't have any problems with).
2) the proprietary USB connection on the side of the camera is just that... Special, unique. You better not lose that cable that comes with the camera! I mean, really! Why did Panasonic have to do that? Everyone else in the industry has a "normal" mini-USB connector to hook up the camera to a PC. What were they thinking?

I've used this camera on the beach, while kayaking, out in the desert riding bikes and UTV's, backpacking in the rain - and it held up perfectly.

very impress with my outdoor and by the pool shots. Not so impress when flash is needed. Overall pics are clear, I had an old olympus water proof oen that we broke by leaving in the heat. I would say the pic quality her is better. The camera is a lot thicker and heavier than the Olympus tough

I bought this camera 3 weeks ago. I live in the Bahamas on a remote cay, so I really wanted a camera that didn't involve taking housing on and off throughout my excursions. I bought the Panasonic Lumix TS2 after reading great reviews. It is a nice camera, takes some good shots...as far as any kind of macro underwater it is no good, and action shots underwater are also a lost cause.
The reason I am giving this camera such a low rating though, is that after taking EXTREMELY good care of it for the past few weeks...I went to turn my camera on this morning and the screen is all fogged up and the camera is now not working. I was so careful as far as cleaning the "leak-proof" seals and rinsing the camera after every use...apparently it didn't matter.

I purchased 3 of these camera's based on Specifications. Shame on me. Shame on Panasonic! Faster start up reads the specs, HD video reads the specs. Lies on both accounts. Start up entails pushing the power button, then waiting for a warning to fill the screen, "do you want to read the warning notice, Yes or No" Then hit the left arrow to select yes or no, then hit enter to confirm. Now if you have followed each of these steps correctly, you may be able to use your camera. Each and EVERY time you power on the camera, even if it went of due to power save, you will have to repeat these steps. For more fun switch to a picture mode, and receive even more warnings before you can proceed. I do not consider this a fast start up.
As for HD, Panasonic uses AVCHD Lite format. They include PhotoFunHouse, a limited and very poorly written software to handle the AVCHD lite format. (It does not. It does not download any AVCHD movies if there is more than one movie on the memory card. It does not download the video and photos to any remote network drive, or other drive that is not the "program drive" It does convert to MP4 format if you can get it to recognize the movie on the camera at all.
All in all, I am looking to dump 3 of camera's as soon as possible. Panasonic you can have the best specs around, but you drop the ball on using the camera and getting the photos / movies off the camera, and all other specs are worthless. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA
